So let's build that business one blog post at a time.

let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
Annapolis holds a special place in our hearts here at the Haney household. With the fourth family member attending USNA currently a second class (or junior in civilian words), we have spent a lot of time there over the years. So when Hannah and Will mentioned wanting to do their engagement session in Annapolis, naturally I was all over it!
First, we went down Fleet Street to THE bicycle mural (iykyk) that must be captured any time you are shooting in Annapolis. Next, we explored a few more side streets downtown and headed to the Capitol building that sits atop the hill. It was beautiful on a crisp, fall afternoon!
When Hannah first contacted me she also mentioned wanting to involve the water background in their session. Of course we could have just gone to the downtown waterfront and fought crowds and geese…but I offered a little bit of a crazier idea!
My in-laws have a sailboat docked in Annapolis, and I thought it would be a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos. So across the Eastport bridge we went, and we photographed them on the marina dock then popped a beautiful bottle of champagne, complete with the full bubbly explosion! I loved that their sense of adventure allowed a crazy photographer to take them onto a sailboat at sunset to celebrate their engagement!
Hannah and Will are such an amazing couple too! Together they are a powerhouse! They met when they were both Congressional staffers on Capitol Hill. Like the true overachievers they are, they both signed up to go on a tour of Maryland’s NASA facilities, and on the bus on the way back, Will asked Hannah to go get coffee sometime. Hannah eagerly agreed with one caveat–let it be drinks instead of coffee and it was a deal! After that, they were inseparable.
Will proposed to Hannah on a beautiful June day when they took the day off to enjoy each other. They packed a picnic and headed down to the Tidal Basin. As they sipped their wine, Will began walking down memory lane…Hannah attributed the sentimentality to the wine, but really…he was about to propose! Of course she said yes, and they are planning a small family wedding to say their vows and begin their married lives together.
Let's talk business.
