You know how when you first meet some people, you just know you’re going to click? That’s how I felt when Caleb and I met Jackie and Thomas. As we talked, we found out that Thomas was a prior Marine and had the same MOS as Caleb (military speak for same job). He is now the owner of his local business, Brennan’s Landscaping, so he knows what it’s like to be in the hustle of owning your own business! As we were talking about owning our own businesses, Thomas mentioned he and Jackie attended an entrepreneurial conference in Miami a while back. It is certainly a small world because my brother, who is also an entrepreneur, attended the same conference. Crazy that they could have met in passing at some point! While Thomas is planning landscapes, Jackie is a physical therapist and works so hard with crazy hours. She absolutely loves the hard work though!

When we were deciding where to do their engagement session, I initially suggested the Marine Corps Museum because Thomas had been in the Marines and still fiercely supports the military. Jackie mentioned that she would love to do their session at Manassas Battlefield because that is where they got engaged. I seriously love when couples choose locations that are a part of their story, so of course we did it there! It was a perfect, quiet location where we could even bring Geissele (pronounced guy-sull), their five-month-old pup that was seriously so well-behaved! Honestly, Geissele stole the show. He was so happy to be able to run free for a little bit and stayed right with us the whole time. He ran, he cuddled, he licked, he played, like the best boy that he is!!

The sun hid behind the clouds for the beginning part of the session, but really gave us a beautiful sunset to end the night with. When the sun came out, I made them dance. Thankfully they are good sports and every time I said, “Okay, last pose,” or, “Okay, last shot,” they were ready for three more poses and/or shots.
