Fork Union, Virginia? Where is that?!

Well, that place is one that is so special to my family and many other families from my hometown of Fluvanna County. Jessica and Matt’s families are no exception!

Jessica and Matt celebrated their wedding day at the private residence of a family who has been in Jessica’s life for a while, which made it all the more sentimental.

These two are high school sweethearts and have been together over five years. Together, they live in Fluvanna where they grew up with their sweet pup, Sadie. I must say that Sadie stole the show as their ring bearer, running down the aisle to Matt as soon as he called her!

Jessica and her bridesmaids put the final finishing touches on their hair and makeup at her and Matt’s home, while Matt and his groomsmen slipped on their tuxes at his childhood home. There’s just something about being back and home and serving couples from Fluvanna that makes me nostalgic. Jessica and I went through Girl Scouts together back in elementary and middle school too! It’s just so fun to see childhood friends grow into the people they’re meant to be.

Other than Sadie walking down the aisle, I would have to say the other favorite part of their day was Jessica’s first look with her dad. It was a quiet moment, with a beautiful backdrop, where Jessica gave him a letter, they practiced how they were going to walk down the aisle, and shared a few happy tears (just like her father knew they would!).

It was clear that they are loved by their friends and family, as many of them had been supporting them for years. That will no doubt continue into their new married life.
