BRANDING
I'm Ali Rae and I love building brands.
So let's build that business one blog post at a time.

let's whip that brand into shape
You guys…truth time. I feel like I failed this month. It’s a hard thing to tell the Internet you feel like you didn’t fulfill the goals you said you were going to…but it’s true.
I told myself I was going to read two books per month this year. Guess how many I read this month? Three chapters of one.
I told myself I was going to start drinking water and take a vitamin every day. Guess what? I didn’t.
I told myself I was going to fix Caleb’s lunch every day. Guess what? I didn’t more often than not.
I was really contemplating not posting this blog post because, to be honest, I am embarrassed. I said I was going to make things priorities, and I felt like I didn’t. That’s why we are here on the fourth day of the month and the blog post is finally getting up…
But you know what is an integral part of goal setting and PowerSheets? GRACE. I am choosing to give myself grace this month about not reading the amount I wanted to read or taking the vitamins, drinking the water, or making the lunches. February was filled with preparations for Caleb to be going on a seven-week course. He made it safely and has nearly everything he needs to be successful while he is out there, and I count that as a win in my book.
Instead of dwelling on the things that didn’t get done in February, I am choosing to focus on how they are going to get done in March. For example, I noticed that I don’t take my vitamins because I don’t have them in a place I see often, so I’m moving them to my desk where I sit every day. Seems small, but hey, if it helps me accomplish my goal of taking a vitamin every day, well again, I count it a small win in my book.
Looking forward to March, my goals have shifted since Caleb will be gone this month. He is really missing his girls (I think I am now outranked by HRH, but I’m not too mad about it—she’s pretty stinkin’ cute), so I am making it a goal to send him a picture (or seven) of her to him each day so it’s like he never even left! I’m still going to try and finish the books I didn’t finish from last month and even make up for lost time by reading a third…we’ll see how that goes. Maybe it’ll be great, maybe I’ll continue to learn to give myself grace.
Stay tuned to see!
