PERSONAL
let's whip that brand into shape
Meet Hannah, Porsche, and Tamara. They are the lady boss business owners of Shine Pilates Lex. They recently purchased the business and while it had a great base, they wanted to truly make it their own. They started with a physical makeover–painting the walls a light grey color made this space feel welcoming and calming.
Next, was their “vibe” transformation. They wanted to make it very clear that EVERYONE was welcome–Pilates veterans, newbies, all ages, all genders, and every body type. We let the idea of inclusion guide our session because that is what they wanted to put out into the world, on their social media, and on their website.
The Shine Pilates Lex studio is a cozy one. They have five reformers where they conduct group classes with a maximum of five students, as well as individual or “private” clients. Hannah, co-owner and instructor, describes their studio as “small, but mighty.” With intimate class sizes, all three instructors are able to focus on form of each client and give them individualized advice to improve their form in order to achieve their fitness goals.
While I was there, I was able to meet some of their clients and everyone sang their praises. One client was told she was going to need to get her hip replaced, but after working with two of the instructors at Shine Pilates Lex as a private client, she was able to rehabilitate her hip to the point that the surgery was no longer needed. Another client ended up having to have surgery on her shoulder and uses Pilates to strengthen her shoulder back to what it was prior to the surgery. It seemed like each client had her own story for why Pilates works for her, and each of the instructors already knew that story. That’s what they mean when they say they want community within their studio family, which is exactly what they have!
Of course Hanna, Porsche, and Tamara love their diehard clients, but part of their goals for the year was to show that their door is always open to new clients as well, regardless of familiarity level with Pilates. They make sure to care for their new clients after their classes by checking in with a personal text to see how their muscles are feeling and see if they need anything…if that’s not personalized service, I don’t know what is! To make them stand out even more, they have client appreciation days where they bring in coffee or smoothies or other goodies from local small businesses to shower their clients with love and appreciation.
Whenever I have the privilege of shooting branding images for a small business, one of my first questions is: What are your goals for the next year? Once I know that, I am able to more fully understand how I can help them with their marketing materials. Some of the most common answers are:
“We are going through a rebrand and need new, on-brand images for our website, social media, and newsletters.”
“We would like to start a blog on our website and need images to pair with our content.”
“I am offering a new service/marketing a new product and need images specifically for that launch.”
“While we haven’t formally re-branded, we haven’t had updated images taken for our business since we first started. Our business has evolved since then and I want something that accurately represents who we are now.”
“My ideal client has changed and I want images that are tailored more toward that client.”
If any of these sound like you, let’s talk. I would love to strategize with you so we can get you, your brand, and your ideal client all on the same page to start converting leads to paying clients!
Let's talk business.
