This engagement is a special one! You may remember seeing these faces from a session back in the spring–this is Caleb’s sister, Saige, and her [now] fianceé, Pat!

Pat asked Saige to marry him over the holidays on a skiing trip in the mountains. Of course that meant I had to get them in front of my camera before we all headed our separate ways!

They are both active duty Marine Corps and have since headed down to Pensacola to begin their flight school training to become pilots–talk about a power couple!

Pat spent the holidays with our family…and as you may recall from that Christmas blog post a couple weeks back, we can be a lot! But he hung in there and it was truly like we found a missing person from our family. He didn’t skip a beat with all the kids running around and even got Jackson to sleep one day when no one else could.

For their engagement session, we ventured to a newer vineyard in Keswick, Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard. It has absolutely gorgeous mountain views, which paid a sweet homage to their proposal story. It is my understanding that the owners are art collectors, so the interior of the tasting room is just funky and cool. Complete with a walrus and zebra and a mosaic fireplace…it’s just a one-of-a-kind place that sticks out among many other central Virginia wineries.

Pat says he’s not great in front of the camera, but he lies. Get this man a glass of rosé and he’s a natural. 🙂 No, but we had a great time documenting this exciting chapter in their lives.
