This was my THIRD time shooting at Pilates Barre Lex and my FIFTH time shooting with PBL’s amazing owner, Hannah Merideth. When I say we work so well together, I truly mean it.

Hannah started Pilates Barre Lex last summer and the reformer Pilates studio has been rapidly growing ever since! I attribute much of this growth to her expert marketing (although she would never toot her own horn!). She is consistent in the online promotion of the studio and all it has to offer.

Now, I will toot my own horn when she says that many of her clients compliment her on the consistency and professional presence of her online appearance because she has used my images throughout every phase of her business thus far!

Each time we go into a new branding session, I ask Hannah what her goals are for the business in the upcoming six to twelve months. I let those goals guide our session time.

This time, her goals were to continue to promote PBL’s mission of community, which we did through the multiple group photos of some of her clients. This was incredible to see because the last time we did a session, she rallied multiple models to attend the session, but because she wasn’t quite in business yet, she only had a few real clients to recruit. This time…ALL of the “models” were her actual clients that regularly attend classes at PBL. This is just one small illustration of how much the studio has grown in the last year!

One of the other goals has always been to make sure new clients feel comfortable walking through the doors. As we were brainstorming on how to illustrate this in the images, I mentioned the idea of documenting the “journey” each client takes–from walking into the door to the completion of class. We did just that! One of our models and Hannah’s sweet clients, walked through the motions of coming in the front door, signing in for class, stowing shoes and belongings, adjusting the reformer and straps to her height, pulling up her hair, and getting to work! Now she will have visuals to show future clients exactly what to expect when they walk through the doors.

Finally, she recently came out with some merchandise that we wanted to showcase, so we had some of our models sprinkled throughout with said merchandise on. Then we got a couple of images with models in the merchandise that she can use for social media and website.

One of the beautiful things about working together multiple times is that I can anticipate what her needs will be for our next session. I follow all of my clients on social media for a couple reasons: one, I genuinely just want to support them! Two, I want to see if I can spot any gaps in their social media/online presence that we can fill during our next session. One of the “gaps” (it was really hard to find any with Hannah, let me tell ya) was that she needed more images with white space so that she could place text over them for her Instagram stories. So that was something I focused on when composing images during this session.

Hannah, it is always a pleasure to see you and watch your business FLOURISH! This is one of the words she has used to guide her studio from the beginning and I loved that she added the inspirational words to the mirrors in her studio, so naturally I had to document them!
