BRANDING
I'm Ali Rae and I love building brands.
So let's build that business one blog post at a time.

let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
I love when I get to work with people multiple times! Heather was the bridesmaids of one of 2020 brides, so not only did I get to see her again, but I also got to see my previous bride too!
Heather and Will are middle school sweethearts. Yes, you read that correctly–middle school. Their story sounds like a sweet romantic comedy. He was a football player; she was a cheerleader. She thought he was cute and one of their friends ended up setting them up! They have been together for over 10 years ever since then!
Their wedding felt natural. When you have been together for so many seasons of life, it seems like everyone knows everyone and there’s something really beautiful in that. It feels like two families truly coming together, as opposed to just two individuals.
While the forecast was rainy, the rain held off most of the day and gave us some overcast skies that provided beautiful even light for their portraits! While we ended up going with their “rain plan” for the ceremony, it was so beautiful that you would have never known it was Plan B.
The neutral colors throughout the florals and the bridesmaids gowns paired with the bright white spaces the venue, Adaline Acres, provided, the day felt very light and airy. Heather’s classic form-fitting gown adorned beautiful lace and beading details and fit her like a glove. The bridesmaids flowing gowns made a perfect compliment to hers.
Will and his groomsmen were sure to get a picture together by his truck, which is his pride and joy! They had some fun with it, which always makes me happy! They were a lively bunch of best friends that were so excited for him to marry the woman of his dreams.
One of my favorite moments throughout their day was the father/daughter first look. This always brings tears to my eyes! And Heather’s dad had one of the best reactions I have ever seen. He was truly astonished by his daughter’s beauty. It was a calm, gentle reaction, but one that was so heartfelt.
Another favorite was seeing Heather and Will interact with one another during portraits. Will would certainly not describe himself as a “picture guy,” but he was patient and attentive to Heather and what she wanted throughout the day. Our portrait time after the ceremony ended with Will helping Heather out of her heels because they were hurting her feet…now if that isn’t true love I don’t know what is!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Chilton! Thank you so much for allowing me to document part of your enduring love story.
