Be Your Brand has turned out to be even more life-giving than I had anticipated. Last month I was able to work with a bunch of different types of vendors, but none that were photographers! This month that was changed. Both the participants for the February Be Your Brand session at The Barn at Willow Brook in Leesburg, Virginia, were photographers! When I first photographed another photographer (wow, that’s a lot of repetition, lol), it made a little nervous…that I wasn’t going to pick the exact right location, or their style was going to be so different than mine that I wouldn’t live up to what they wanted. But I have grown so much in my craft and confidence, that now, other photographers are some of my favorite people to photograph. It becomes a collaboration, which I thrive off of! 🙂

Jessica has just begun her transition from newborn and maternity photography to wedding and engagement photography. She has found a happy place in celebrating with couples during the happiest time of their lives! She loves Disney, as shown by her various pairs of Minnie ears and can almost always be found with a latte in her hand. Williamsburg, Virginia, is where she and her family call home. As a mom to six children, she and her husband are always loving on their babies, but still find time to make focus on themselves with monthly date nights!

Does this face look familiar to you? If so, it probably should! She was at last month’s Be Your Brand session too, but in a different capacity. This bad ass of a business owner owns not one, but TWO creative businesses. This time we showcased her photography business (with a little bit of K. Layne Styled too—we don’t discriminate!). She has been in business since 2017 and describes her ideal bride as “having a vision for their wedding day, but not freaking out if a detail doesn’t work out exactly how they had imagined.” If this sounds like you, Kassie is your girl! 🙂

This session would not have been possible if it weren’t for the very hospitable and gracious owner of The Barn at Willow Brook, Betsy! She was so accommodating, welcoming us into our home, and supplying whatever we needed (seriously, any bowl/spatula/coffee cup/flowers we needed/wanted, she was prepared for everything!). I was thankful to be able to take a few pictures of the farmhouse that is used as a bridal and groom suite on the days they host weddings.

Also, Audrey of Beauty by Audrey B was a rockstar coming in hot with some gorgeous hair and makeup for Jessica and Kassie. She works for a news station as well, so she is used to doing hair and makeup quick and efficiently. She even stayed until the shoot was over so that she could be sure to help us with any touch-ups we needed! How stinkin’ thoughtful!
