BRANDING
I'm Ali Rae and I love building brands.
So let's build that business one blog post at a time.

let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
So when starting out my business, I had a few venues where I dreamt of shooting a wedding…Morais was one of them. I also did my best to figure out who my “ideal client” was, the type of person and family I wanted to work with regularly…after many weddings, I found that the clients I loved working with the most were in professions where they served others. Well, Ashley and Keith are those people at that dream venue.
Ashley is a third grade teacher, while Keith spend his days keeping us safe as a state trooper. Both living lives in service to their community, the care they display for one another and their loved ones was on display throughout their summer wedding day.
Their story is a sweet one–one of young love, long distance love, and enduring love. At least two of the toasts given at the reception featured their “how we met” story, which included stories of high school sleepovers and late night conversations after a Facebook introduction. It was really cute and apparently the rest was history! Their love endured their long distance throughout college in different states, a college athletic career, and the transition from school to “real life,” only making their bond stronger.
Despite the threat of rain throughout the day, somehow it dodged us and only rained on the car ride from the ceremony to the reception! Not gonna lie, my brain was calculating and re-calculating the timeline and portrait time on the drive back to Morais, but my good luck umbrellas kept the rain away until about 9pm. Thankfully by then all of their portraits were complete!
One of my favorite parts of their wedding day was the father/daughter dance…since I have photographed (and attended) many a wedding, it’s rare that I see something I haven’t ever seen before. But Ashley’s dad pulled out a new one–a montage of songs representing all the different stages and feelings of Ashley’s life and a father’s love. With a mixture of slow, sentimental songs and some fast-paced, upbeat songs, every stage was represented, including her softball days! It was a tear jerker, and I actually locked eyes with one of her bridesmaids who caught me wiping a tiny tear off my cheek.
The newlyweds were so ready to start their “Forever After All,” which they did surrounded by their family and friends! Thank you, Ashley and Keith, trusting me with your wedding day memories and making my photographer dreams come true!
