let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
Shooting this wedding was just like catching up with old friends because…well, we were catching up with old friends! Caleb and Rylan grew up together–literally were born four weeks apart in the small little town of Cookville, TN. Fast forward 30 years, and they are still great friends who keep in touch often. Rylan was in attendance at our wedding and we are so thankful that we were able to document his special day getting married to his soul mate, Alison!
I don’t like referring to couples as a “COVID couple” because it seems like a negative term…but Alison and Rylan did have to reschedule their wedding from last year. Honestly, though, it seems like their guests were as excited as they would have been on their original wedding date, if not more! It was a joy to watch everyone be able to gather comfortably and dance the night away together.
One thing that I particularly loved about Alison and Rylan’s wedding day (among many things!) was the fact that they had cocktail hour for their guests before their ceremony. It allowed time for guests to catch up and it built a beautiful, relaxed day for the two of them. We had time for not one, but TWO portrait sessions before the ceremony even began! I would love if all of my couples did this!!
Like I said, many things were beautiful about their day. Among them were the assembly of both their families to celebrate their love, their signature drinks, Alison’s timeless bridal gown, Rylan’s vintage Ford, and the way Rylan and Alison look at one another. Seriously…I can’t think of another way to describe Alison but pure joy. Her smile and nose scrunch are everything and no one makes her nose scrunch more than Rylan.
After having met at the Cotton Eyed Joe, it was only fitting that they danced the night away on the dance floor with Rylan’s best man, his brother, and Alison’s maid of honor, her sister. The restoration of normalcy was refreshing and I am so thankful that their wedding day was everything they dreamed it would be!
Thank you, to the newest Mr. and Mrs. Thompson for including us in your beautiful wedding day. We wish you the best and cannot wait to walk with you through the journey of marriage!
