let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
Abby and Billy live a life of service. Abby is a first grade teacher in Orange County, Virginia, while Billy has and still is serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard. They asked me to photograph their wedding last November. When they told me their wedding day was going to be June 21st, it made me smile. June weddings have a special place in my heart because that’s when we got married too! Come to find out, it was also Abby’s grandfather’s birthday as well. Although he has passed, he was certainly there in spirit looking down as Abby and Billy as they said their vows.
The forecast was one-of-a-kind for a June day in Virginia. As I was preparing for their wedding, I looked up the weather and it read, “Less humid with a light breeze.” Talk about perfect! And it indeed was perfect weather. Bandit’s Ridge in Louisa, Virginia, provided the most picturesque central Virginia setting for the Hutcherson-Farley wedding. The horses grazed in the background as Mr. Hutcherson gave his youngest daughter away to the man of her dreams.
Happiness was spread across the faces of both families all day. Billy’s mother may kill me for mentioning this, but happy tears were streaming down her cheeks all day! Just like her, I am a happy crier, so capturing those moments is always special to me. Their mother-son dance was so tender and sweet, tears flowing from mom, being held up by her grown son beginning a life with his new wife. He couldn’t have done that without you, momma! Always remember that.
Abby and her father began their dance in a traditional fashion, but quickly switched gears mid-song by dancing to “Play that Funky Music White Boy!” It was for sure a crowd pleaser and totally unexpected! Abby has a dancing background, so there were some impromptu choreographed musical numbers performed throughout the night! It was great!
The reception was filled with drinks, laughter, celebrations, and dancing. When the dance floor is poppin’, Caleb and I sometimes even get out there and try to cut a rug. I tripped over my own feet while trying to do Copperhead Road though, so I refrained after that, but it was still so fun!
Finally, Abby and Billy were sent off by their family and friends from the romantic barn as the guests waved white glow sticks and they were whisked away to their room for the evening. They’re now celebrating their nuptials in the mountains of West Virginia!
Thank you to all of the Hutchersons and Farleys for including us in your celebration! It was a perfect day for the new Farley family to begin their forever!
