As you can see, Anne and Brandon’s engagement session was in the middle of the lush summer. So needless to say, I am behind in blogging their session. However, it will hit the press before their wedding this Sunday!

These two are so extremely sweet. Anne is a high school teacher and Brandon contracts for the government and together they lead a life of service. These are my people! Anne mentioned that she wanted to incorporate a fan as a nod to her culture. It was perfect and I loved the way it was so natural in her hand.

Their engagement session took place at the historic Oatlands gardens and grounds and my oh my, this garden never disappoints. Honestly, I find a new little nook each time I shoot there. Some of the highlights of the garden are the perfectly trimmed hedges, the steps with different blooms at every landing, the small wading pool (complete with a cherub statue that I usually do my best to crop out), the rose and ivy covered brick, and the gazebo. And that’s just in GARDEN!

At the top of the garden, you will find the historic estate that overlooks the picturesque mountains with a stately columned wall. Any way you turn, there is a beautiful back drop against which a couple can shine.

Anne and Brandon are saying, “I do” this Sunday at their winery wedding, which will only prove to be just as beautiful as a backdrop for their vows. They will be having a Chinese Lion Dance at their wedding and I absolutely can’t wait to witness this beautiful tradition!
