let's whip that brand into shape
Thanks so much for your continued support. My business and brand has seen many chapters, and while this was one of them, please consider joining me in the current chapter. I am now a brand developer/photographer and fractional CMO for fellow small business owners. If you’d like to follow along, you can sign up for my email list here!
Talk about the best of both worlds…a beautiful, rich holiday-themed wedding with brisk, but not cold November weather and sunshine. Heather and Eric got both on their wedding day!!
Back in May, we were able to do their engagement session at Morais, their wedding venue, as well, which allowed us to capture some of the bright greens that the vines and trees had to offer. But their November wedding was equally as beautiful, as the fall foliage held on for an extra weekend for us! And oh my, Sarena at Sarena Floral Designs…she is a one-of-a-kind florist who can bring any color palette together and any floral vision to life. She did just that with the whimsical and bright bouquets for Heather and her bridesmaids.
Heather decided to do a first look with her father…those just hit different now that we have kids, especially a daughter! Before we walked outside for Heather to see her father for the first time on her wedding day she said to me, “He won’t cry, but he will turn really red and try not to smile.” Man, she hit the nail on the head on that one! She was exactly right…and then here I am tearing up behind my lens loving their relationship and envisioning Caleb seeing Huxley on her wedding day in 25 years! You’ll notice a knife as part of Heather’s details as well. This knife is her father’s favorite knife and she carried it with her as her “something borrowed.”
One of their good friends was the officiant of their marriage ceremony. Their ceremony was perfect with beautiful florals at the ceremony site, the warm sun on the backs of their guests, and hot apple cider for them to sip as the couple said their vows.
After they said, “I do,” we slipped off to the cellar to get the quintessential Morais cellar photo–one of my favorites always! It’s a quiet moment after the ceremony for the bride and groom to realize, “Wow, we are husband and wife!” It never disappoints to be a fly on the wall in that moment.
Once we made our way to the beautiful emerald and red reception, Heather and Eric took a second to take it all in and grab some of their unique portraits. She really wanted to replicate an image of royalty with her bejeweled crown and Eric’s suit. So we used the chairs from the sweetheart table to pose them royally! Then they got to share a moment together dancing on the dance floor before the rest of their guests tapered into the reception space. It was a sweet, quiet moment to savor their wedding day.
By the end of the night, beautiful toasts had been toasted, dances had been danced, and kisses had been kissed. It was a beautiful evening celebrating Heather and Eric and I feel so privileged to have been part of it! Congratulations to Heather and Eric!
