Tucked away in a little corner of Arlington, there is a quaint rose garden called Bon Air Memorial Rose Garden. It showcases some beautiful flowers that are award-winning. When I was on my way to Ashtin and Josh’s session, I thought for sure I had taken a wrong turn because I was in a very residential part of town and this was supposed to be a public park. I am glad we persevered though because it was SO worth it!
These two celebrated a “half anniversary” by putting on their wedding attire once again to relive their special day. After a couple reschedules (which are made a little more difficult when coordinating hair and makeup too!), we finally got our session in. I’m serious when I say I thought the August weather was against me! So many reschedules right before maternity leave, but each time, we eventually lucked out with weather and got the session in.
Ashtin and Joshua are high school sweethearts originally from one of my favorite places ever–Charleston, South Carolina! That is where they got married in their hometown. Josh’s job brought them to Arlington and now Ashtin is teaching Kindergarten as well! More strength to her as she navigates teaching littles during their first year at school virtually. In the short time we interacted though, it was clear she sets goals and doesn’t stop until she completes them. I have no doubt that her virtual classroom and reaching the kids will not be an exception!
It was a joy to photograph you both, and I am so glad that we persevered despite crazy storms for over a week!
