let's whip that brand into shape
After seven years, Nicolle and Josh tied the knot on their dating anniversary! While their day was originally the large wedding on a traditional Saturday in May, after some debate on what would fit them the best—they decided to get married on a Tuesday! And let me tell you—what a celebration they had!
Although there were less guests and it was on a weekday, it was perfect. Thirty of the closest family and friends were there to support them as they said their vows.
I feel like their Tuesday wedding was in line with their non-traditional love. Hear me out—they fell in love while working at a Harley-Davidson shop where their boss forbade them to start dating one of their coworkers. Well, you see how well that turned out…but wait! The plot thickens! Two other couples also fell in love while working at the motorcycle shop, one of which was in the bridal party. So not only did they find true love, they also found true friendship in their coworkers there. If that’s not a God wink, I don’t know what is!
Throughout the day, it was so clear that the relationship between Nicolle and her father is a special one. They did a daddy/daughter first look (which is one of my favorite things ever!) and it made me tear up. Something about the daddy daughter moments always get me since having Huxley… Then he made one of the sweetest toasts I have ever heard. He spoke about when she was little and they were trying to teach her to say “sweetheart,” but it always came out “e-heart.” Fast forward to a couple decades later when Nicolle came home to tell her father she had met a really nice guy that was such a sweetheart. Memories of little Nicolle saying “e-heart” flooded back to him. Her dad ended his toast with, “Josh, you may be her sweetheart, but she will always be my e-heart.” Cue the tears.
Josh is going to be a great husband too—he even teared up at this toast! But it was so sweet that when I asked them to come outside for sunset portraits, he did so without blinking an eye. I remember when I first had a phone consultation with Nicolle, before she even booked me for her wedding day, she told me, “My fiancée isn’t really the picture-taking type.” Well, he was at their engagement session, and he was on their wedding day, so Nicolle…I’m not convinced! And I’ll see you next year for an anniversary session on your 1st/8th anniversary! 🙂
